Live historically it seems if i update today I’ll have a few years before they bring it up to 11 at least.

And the update always costs the same no matter what version you come from so no benefit in updating today. And they’ve gotten kind of clunky since they added VST support, I am kind of hoping they will figure that out better but I have a feeling it won’t be until version 11 or 12. Reason I know if I upgraded today they’ll surely have a new version out in 9 months or less. As an alternative creative process, as I typically use Reason for. I will never be able to trade PT in for Live because of the amount of recording, mixing, and composing work I have done and will continue to do in it.īut I’ve wanted to get into Live, just haven’t been able to. I primarily use Pro Tools and Reason, because i have been forever. It’s an amusing controller, I wish it was integrated into my other DAWs. I also have a Push 1 which I had hoped would help my befuddled brain but not really. I kind of know my way around but it requires some thought. It’s not my primary daw, I’ve had a hard time cracking the code on it, to fit it into my workflow. What about as a Live 9 Suite owner to 10 Suite upgrade?
ABLETON LIVE 10 COST UPGRADE
Its not worth the cost at the moment to upgrade so much, but as someone who loves using Live its the cost of non subscription software I think, and if its another 4 years of updates it works out to be cheaper than some of the others (ok maybe not Logic that is cheaper). The new zoom controls make it feel more Logic/Pro Tools. The Wavetable synth sounds great and will be used a lot.

It seems stable and reliable to me in beta. Hopefully we will be rewardsed with more treats and tweaks. Its smoother, slicker and to be honest everything Live 9 should have been updated to last year. I had only just bought Ableton last summer so not long ago but too long to get a bigger discount or Live for free.īut for me I weighed up the experience I was having and the biggest problem was when I opened up Live 9 I really missed the additions but moreso the tweaks. Mainly the additions made it feel a little more like Logic (which I came from using prior to Ableton). But as I learnt more and more what was in the update I couldn't resist. Not initially, in fact I wondered what the point was going to be. So I thought i would just explain why for those on the fence as I have been. Ifinally took the plunge and decided the upgrade was worth it.
